Street Meet
With this ongoing project, I interview people that I meet on the street. I enjoy hearing their stories and documenting who they are in this moment of time, to my best ability. Whether they are the man who fixed the Smog Check of my car, a fellow shopper at the Japanese market, or the man who repairs rugs down the street, I enjoy stringing along their narratives through the use of images.
Accompanying these images are short bios I have created via audio recordings from my conversations with those I meet on the street.
Studio Artists
As an aspiring creative in LA, I have met amazing individuals through the art community. I have learned about both the industry and my own creative pursuits through these intimate sessions. These wonderful relationships have formed online, at local flea markets and also at my younger brother’s fraternity party. At a time they were once strangers, but now they have mentored me and become life long friends.
One Door Closes,
Another Opens
Recently, I have noticed my loved ones around me undergoing times of change. I felt the desire to document such nostalgic moments and find similarities between these shared experiences. I realized that no matter one’s stage in life moments of discomfort with change never cease to exist. We are always closing a door, but in turn another is always opening around the corner.
Flea Friends
I spend a good amount of my weekends at a few local flea markets. I have become friends with multiple vendors as a result of being a consistent customer of theirs. As I love documenting people, I decided to start documenting those vendors that I buy from. I welcome a new garment or chats into my life and as a result I send them photos of themself, almost like a trade.
Film Photography
In addition to being a digital photographer, I have recently started explored film. There is nothing more exciting than getting your film developed and reliving the moments that you had forgotten since the click of the shutter.
